Marc Boerigter (Marc Robert Boerigter) was born on May 4, 1978 in Sioux Center, Iowa. After going to high school at Hastings (NE), Boerigter attended Hastings College. Boerigter made his professional debut in the NFL in 2002 with the Kansas City Chiefs. He played for the Kansas City Chiefs for his entire 3 year career.

Most people believe that 2002 was Marc Boerigter's best year, as he caught 8 TD passes.


Acquired: Signed by Calgary as a free agent on November 20, 2006.

Signed with the Green Bay Packers as a free agent…Was released and immediately signed with the Indianapolis Colts.

2005

Played in 10 games with the Kansas City Chiefs…Recorded eight receptions for 119 yards…Also made two special teams tackles.

2004:

Missed entire regular season with a torn ACL in his right knee during the third pre-season game versus Cleveland.

2003:

Played 15 games for the Chiefs…Caught 11 passes for 158 yards and one kickoff return for 44 yards…Also had six special teams tackles and two fumble recoveries on special teams…Recovered a fumble on a punt return at Baltimore (9/28)…Recovered a muffed punt at Oakland (10/20)…Had two receptions including a 16-yard catch to set up the game winning field goal versus Oakland (11/23)…Was inactive with an ankle injury at Minnesota (12/20)…Caught one pass for 21 yards in an AFC Divisional Playoff Game versus Indianapolis (1/11/04).

2002:

Made NFL debut with the Kansas City Chiefs and recorded his most productive season…Played in all 16 games recording 20 receptions for 420 yards and eight touchdowns…was sixth on the team with 12 special team’s stops…Saw his first NFL action at Cleveland (9/8)…Recorded his first NFl reception on a 51 yard strike from Trent Green versus Jacksonville (9/15)…Caught his first two NFL TDs at San Diego (10/13)…Started his first NFL game at Denver (12/15)…Tied an NFL record with a 99 yard reception for a TD in a game played December 22 versus the San Diego Chargers.

2001:

In sophomore season with the Stampeders, Beorigter again played a major role on a team that lost both Dave Dickenson and Allen Pitts…Recorded 48 receptions for 931 yards and a team-high 11 touchdowns in 18 games…Added three rushes for 25 yards…Played an influential role in leading team to Grey Cup…Received three balls for two TDs versus B.C. (11/11)…Had two receptions for 54 yards at Edmonton (11/18) in the West Final game, had four receptions for 114 yards and a TD in the Grey Cup victory.

2000:

Made professional football debut as a member of the Stampeders…Played in 18 games and one post season contest…Playing among veterans like Allen Pitts, Vince Danielson and Travis Moore, Boerigter was still able to accumulate 63 receptions for 1,092 yards and eight majors…Averaged 17.3 yards per reception…Blocked two punts recovering one for a touchdown…Became the first Stampeder to break the 1,000 yard receiving plateau since Terry Vaughan in 1995…Was named the team’s Most Outstanding Rookie.. A starter in his first game in the CFL versus Edmonton…Led the team with six receptions for 158 yards at Saskatchewan (7/28)…Returned a blocked punt for a TD at Montreal (8/25)…Had a career high two TDs at Saskatchewan (9/22)…Blocked a field goal as time expired versus Montreal (10/29)…Became team’s first rookie to eclipse 1,000 yard receiving mark at Hamilton (11/5)…Caught one pass for 10 yards versus B.C. in the West Final game.

College:

Saw action in 35 games at Hastings College, an NAIA school in Nebraska…caught 93 passes for 1,092 yards…set team record with a 20.5 yard average and 30 touchdowns…earned a degree in Human Resources from Hastings College.

Personal:

Wife Petra and daughter Macie…formed the “Marc Boerigter Open Arms Foundation” in 2003 which supports families and individuals who are confronted with debilitating and terminal illness…operates his own website: www.bo85.com.
