Born on May 4, 1972 in Bani, Peravia (Dominican Republic), Manny Aybar (Manuel Antonio Aybar) played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Florida Marlins, Colorado Rockies, Cincinnati Reds, Chicago Cubs, San Francisco Giants and New York Mets over the course of his 8 year career. Aybar broke into the bigs on August 4, 1997 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and put up a 4.24 ERA in 68 innings pitched in 1997, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Manny Aybar's best season was 1999, when he struck out 74 batters.
