Lyn Lary (Lynford Hobart Lary) was born on January 28, 1906 in Armona, California. He made his Major League debut on May 11, 1929 for the New York Yankees. In 1929, his rookie year, he hit .309 with 5 home runs and 26 RBI. Lary played for the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, Washington Senators, St. Louis Browns, Cleveland Indians, St. Louis Cardinals and Brooklyn Dodgers over the course of his 12 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Lyn Lary's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1937, when he hit for a .290 average and knocked in 77 runs. However, others believe that it was 1936, when he stole 37 bases, hit for a .289 average and knocked in 52 runs. Another season that some believe was Lyn Lary's best was 1931, when he hit for a .280 average and knocked in 107 runs.
