Lyle Munn (Lyle Smith Munn) was born on April 13, 1902 in Fairbury, Nebraska. After going to high school at Norton (KS), Munn attended Kansas State University. Munn made his professional debut in the NFL in 1925 with the Kansas City Cowboys. He played for the Kansas City Cowboys, New York Giants, Cleveland Bulldogs and Detroit wolverines over the course of his 5 year career.
