Lou Karras (Louis George Karras) was born on September 19, 1927 in Gary, Indiana. After going to high school at Emerson (Gary, IN), Karras attended Purdue University. Karras made his professional debut in the NFL in 1950 with the Washington Redskins. He played for the Washington Redskins for his entire 3 year career.
