The next big thing on the Internet?

We've all heard the arguments between those who cling to the idea of newspapers and those who cling to the idea of the internet/new media reporting. Well, how about the best of both worlds. I for one have never seen this before and I also think it's a fantastic idea and wonder if I could try and rip it off somehow on my own sites.

Sporting News, the same company who came up with the ingenius idea of a weekly magazine for $15 bucks a year, has come up with a FREE readable newspaper that is available online each morning. Genius? I think so..

This will be big I think. Very big. Expect ripoffs, especially from yours truly very, very soon.

My dad has been reading the newspapers online since the first papers put their stories online. Granted he's been involved with computers since Vax was the shite (he's an old DEC employee), but still the newspapers online thing works as it is. I've flipped through supermarket flyers online and they are formatted like the Sporting News is doing it and they BLOW. I want quality of content not flash. The daily thing is cool and if they do a "web-page" like version of their articles I'll read them, but the flashy thing does not impress me. Yeah too flashy and it just does not fit the format of my computer screen. I just want to read text, not look at a picture that I need to magnify to read.
