Lloyd Mumphord (Lloyd N. Mumphord) was born on December 20, 1946 in Los Angeles, California. After going to high school at Middletown (Tampa, FL), Mumphord attended Texas Southern University. Mumphord made his professional debut in the AFL in 1969 with the Miami Dolphins. He played in the AFL for 1 year, playing for the Miami Dolphins the entire time. Mumphord also played in the NFL for 9 years, playing for the Miami Dolphins and Baltimore Colts over the course of his 9 year NFL career.
Most people believe that 1970 was Lloyd Mumphord's best year, as he picked off 5 passes and ran back an interception for a touchdown.
