Born on May 8, 1950 in Merced, California, Lloyd Allen (Lloyd Cecil Allen) played for the California Angels, Texas Rangers and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 7 year career. Allen broke into the bigs on September 1, 1969 with the California Angels, and put up a 2.49 ERA in 94 innings pitched in 1971, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Lloyd Allen's best season was 1971, when he posted a 2.49 ERA, notched 15 saves and struck out 72 batters.
