Lief Strand (Lief Richard Strand) was born on January 6, 1899 in Two Harbors, Minnesota. After going to high school at Two Harbors (MN), Strand attended Fordham University and the University of Minnesota. Strand made his professional debut in the NFL in 1924 with the Duluth Kelleys. He played for the Duluth Kelleys for his entire 1 year career.
