Len Smith (Leonard Marshall Smith) was born on December 14, 1896. After going to high school at Oshkosh (WI), Smith attended the University of Wisconsin and the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Smith made his professional debut in the NFL in 1923 with the Racine Legion. He played for the Racine Legion for his entire 2 year career.
