Len Dawson (Leonard Ray Dawson) was born on June 20, 1935 in Alliance, Ohio. After going to high school at Alliance (OH), Dawson attended Purdue University. Dawson made his professional debut in the NFL in 1957 with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played in the NFL for 11 year, playing for the Kansas City Chiefs, Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns over the course of his 11 year NFL career.Dawson also played in the AFL for 8 years, playing for the Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Texans over the course of his 8 year AFL career.

Most people believe that 1962 was Len Dawson's best year, as he threw for 2759 yards, tossed 29 TDs and put up a 98.3 passer rating.
