Born on December 1, 1918 in Nokomis, Illinois, Lefty Sloat (Dwain Clifford Sloat) played for the Brooklyn Dodgers and Chicago Cubs over the course of his 2 year career. Sloat broke into the bigs on April 24, 1948 with the Brooklyn Dodgers.
