Lee Riley (Leon Francis Riley) was born on August 24, 1932 in Omaha, Nebraska. After going to high school at St. Aloysius Academy (Schenectady, NY), Riley attended the University of Detroit Mercy. Riley made his professional debut in the NFL in 1955 with the Detroit Lions. He played in the NFL for 5 years, playing for the Philadelphia Eagles, New York Giants and Detroit Lions over the course of his 5 year NFL career.Riley also played in the AFL for 2 years, playing for the New York Titans the entire time.

Most people believe that 1962 was Lee Riley's best year, as he picked off 11 passes.
