Larry Bettencourt (Lawrence Joseph Bettencourt) was born on September 22, 1905 in Newark, California. He made his Major League debut on June 2, 1928 for the St. Louis Browns. In 1928, his rookie year, he hit .283 with 4 home runs and 24 RBI. Bettencourt played for the St. Louis Browns for his entire 3 year career.
