Kevin Smith is a running back for the University of Central Florida. He was born December 17, 1986 in Miami, Florida. He has been one of the most prolific rushers in the history of Florida schools. Some of his statistics already pass the likes of Warrick Dunn and Emmitt Smith. Smith also stands only 180 yards away from tying Barry Sanders all time single season rushing record of 2,628 yards.
Smith originally announced that he would be returning to Central Florida for his senior year in 2008, but he has since changed his mind.

Smith attended Southridge High School in Miami, Florida. He excelled both on and off the field. He was a two year all-Dade County selection as a running back and a free safety. Smith was also on the honor roll as a student.

Smith started out his collegiate career with a bang. He finished as the nation's second leading true freshman rusher with 1178 yards. Smith set a UCF record for most rushing yards by a true freshman. He also finished the season third in UCF history in single season rushing yards.
In 2006, as a sophmore, Smith broke more records. He finished the year with 934 rushing yards, giving him 2112 rushing yards through his first two years, which is a record for UCF. He suffered an injury in the 9th game of the season which ended his year prematurely. He still finished as a second team ALL-Conference USA on the coaches ballot, and third on the media ballot.
Smith started out his junior season in 2007 with a bang. He rushed for a career high 217 yards in a victory over NC State. On the first play of that game, he rushed for an 80 yard touchdown which was the longest run in school history. Since the 2007 season started, Smith has broken the school record for rushing yards and rushing touchdowns. He also led the entire nation in rushing during the 2007 campaign.
