Born on April 6, 1954 in Lynchburg, Virginia, Ken Clay (Kenneth Earl Clay) played for the New York Yankees, Texas Rangers and Seattle Mariners over the course of his 5 year career. Clay broke into the bigs on June 7, 1977 with the New York Yankees, and put up a 4.37 ERA in 55.2 innings pitched in 1977, his rookie year.
