Junior Ortiz (Adalberto (Colon) Ortiz) was born on October 24, 1959 in Humacao, Puerto Rico. He made his Major League debut on September 20, 1982 for the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 1983, his rookie year, he hit .249 with 0 home runs and 12 RBI. Ortiz played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Mets, Minnesota Twins, Cleveland Indians and Texas Rangers over the course of his 13 year career.

Most people believe that Junior Ortiz's best season was 1990, when he hit for a .335 average.
