Julio Cruz (Julio Louis Cruz) was born on December 2, 1954 in Brooklyn, New York. He made his Major League debut on July 4, 1977 for the Seattle Mariners. In 1977, his rookie year, he hit .256 with 1 home run and 7 RBI. Cruz played for the Seattle Mariners and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 10 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Julio Cruz's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1982, when he stole 46 bases. However, others believe that it was 1983, when he stole 57 bases and knocked in 52 runs.
