Johnny Drake (John W. Drake) was born on March 27, 1916 in Chicago, Illinois. After going to high school at Bowen (Chicago, IL), Drake attended Purdue University. Drake made his professional debut in the NFL in 1937 with the Cleveland Rams. He played for the Cleveland Rams for his entire 5 year career.
Most people believe that 1940 was Johnny Drake's best year, as he ran in 9 TDs.
