Johnny Bookman (John Dolan Bookman, Jr.) was born on September 6, 1932 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. After going to high school at Baton Rouge (LA), Bookman attended the University of Miami. Bookman made his professional debut in the NFL in 1957 with the New York Giants. He played in the NFL for 1 year, playing for the New York Giants the entire time. Bookman also played in the AFL for 2 years, playing for the New York Titans and Dallas Texans over the course of his 2 year AFL career.
Most people believe that 1961 was Johnny Bookman's best year, as he picked off 6 passes.
