Johnny Berardino (John Berardino) was born on May 1, 1917 in Los Angeles, California. He made his Major League debut on April 22, 1939 for the St. Louis Browns. In 1939, his rookie year, he hit .256 with 5 home runs and 58 RBI. Berardino played for the St. Louis Browns, Cleveland Indians and Pittsburgh Pirates over the course of his 11 year career.

Most people believe that Johnny Berardino's best season was 1940, when he slugged 16 home runs and knocked in 85 runs.
