Born on February 9, 1955 in Los Angeles, California, John Urrea (John Goody Urrea) played for the St. Louis Cardinals and San Diego Padres over the course of his 5 year career. Urrea broke into the bigs on April 10, 1977 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and put up a 3.16 ERA in 139.2 innings pitched in 1977, his rookie year.
Most people believe that John Urrea's best season was 1977, when he posted a 3.16 ERA and struck out 81 batters.
