Born on October 1, 1973 in Vicksburg, Mississippi, John Thomson (John Carl Thomson) played for the Colorado Rockies, New York Mets, Texas Rangers and Atlanta Braves over the course of his 9 year career. Thomson broke into the bigs on May 11, 1997 with the Colorado Rockies, and put up a 4.71 ERA in 166.1 innings pitched in 1997, his rookie year.

Most people believe that John Thomson's best season was 2004, when he posted a 3.72 ERA, won 14 games and struck out 133 batters.
