John Tarver (John Andrew Tarver) was born on January 1, 1949 in Bakersfield, California. After going to high school at Arvin (CA), Tarver attended Bakersfield JC and the University of Colorado. Tarver made his professional debut in the NFL in 1972 with the New England Patriots. He played for the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles over the course of his 4 year career.

Most people believe that 1973 was John Tarver's best year, as he ran in 4 TDs.
