John Mcmakin (John Garvin McMakin) was born on September 24, 1950 in Spartanburg, South Carolina. After going to high school at Tucker (Atlanta, GA), Mcmakin attended Clemson University. Mcmakin made his professional debut in the NFL in 1972 with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Seattle Seahawks and Detroit Lions over the course of his 5 year career.
Most people believe that 1972 was John Mcmakin's best year.
