John Ebersole (John Joel Ebersole) was born on November 5, 1948 in Altoona, Pennsylvania. After going to high school at Altoona (PA), Ebersole attended Pennsylvania State University. Ebersole made his professional debut in the NFL in 1970 with the New York Jets. He played for the New York Jets for his entire 8 year career.

Most people believe that 1974 was John Ebersole's best year, as he picked off 3 passes.
