Joffrey Reynolds (Joffrey Roy Reynolds) was born on November 26, 1979 in Houston, Texas. After going to high school at Lee (Tyler, TX), Reynolds attended the University of Houston. Reynolds made his professional debut in the NFL in 2003 with the St. Louis Rams. He played for the St. Louis Rams for his entire 1 year career.
Reynolds finished the season fifth All-time in Stampeder history with 247 carries for 1,437 yards, averaging 5.8 yard per carry, and eight touchdowns...his 1,437 yards was 2nd highest in the CFL and also passed Kelvin Anderson’s best mark of 1,383 yards in 2001...Reynolds also finished the season fourth in yards from scrimmage with 1,531
Signed with the New York Giants on August 9...released on September 5...signed with the Stampeders just past mid-season on September 13...played his first CFL game on September 24 vs the B.C. Lions...in the final 5 regular season games averaged 99 yards per game...had a breakout game on October 16 vs the eventual Grey Cup Champion Toronto Argonauts...rushing the ball 23 times for 189 yards for an impressive 8.2 yards per carry and was named offensive player of the week...finished the season rushing the ball 90 times for 497 yards and 2 touchdowns...also recorded 6 catches for 58 yards.
Played in four games with the St. Louis Rams...he recorded 6 kick returns for 109 yards for an average of 18.2 yards with his longest 25 yards...he also recorded 1 tackle in the four games...on October 19 he returned 2 kick-offs for 36 yards against the Green Bay Packers...the following week he returned the ball 4 times for 73 yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
College
Played four seasons at the University of Houston ...played in 35 games and carried the ball 640 times for 2946 yards and 23 touchdowns...averaged 4.6 yards per carry...still holds a school record for a single game high...recording 41 carries for 300 yards and 4 touchdowns vs East Carolina University on September 9, 2002...he finished his career with 13 games of recording 100 yards or more...eight of them came in his final season...he also recorded 80 receptions for 677 yards and 3 touchdowns...During his career he established himself as one of the top dual-threats as a running back and receiver. Not only in Conference USA, but also nationally...extremely powerful runner who improved as one of the best blockers among UH's running backs with his ability to pick up blitz's...he was ranked among the national leaders in receptions by a running back.
Had his best season in Houston playing in 12 games...led the Cougars in rushing with 316 carries for 1545 yards and 11 touchdowns for an impressive 128.8 average yards rushing per game...all career best numbers...averaged 4.8 yards per carry...his longest was a 72 yard touchdown run...he also recorded 19 receptions for 135 yards and 2 touchdowns...throughout the season he recorded eight 100 yard games setting a conference record...his biggest game came on November 9 as Reynolds would carried the ball 41 times for 300 yards in a 54-48 overtime loss to ECU which is a school record...he also recorded big games on October 19 vs Army when he carried the ball 29 times for 197 yards and two touchdowns and October 12 vs UAB carrying the ball 26 times for 148 yards and 1 touchdown.
Started all 11 games...led the Cougars in rushing with 818 yards on 181 carries...also was tops on the team with seven rushing touchdowns and eight total scores...was second on the team in receiving with 37 catches for 349 yards...had impressive averages of 4.5 rushing and 9.4 receiving...rushed for over 100 yards in three straight conference games...became the first UH running back since Ketric Sanford in 1999 to rush for 100 yards in three straight games...had at least one reception in every game...caught a career high seven passes for 70 yards against Army...was named UH Offensive Player of the Week for his performances against Army and Louisville ... ranked in the Top 15 in the nation for running backs with 3.1 receptions per game. 2000
Began the year as the Cougars' starting running back... played in 10 games and led the team in rushing with 534 yards on 136 carries (3.9 avg.)...also led the team with five rushing touchdowns and chipped in 24 receptions for 193 yards...named Conference USA Offensive Player-of-the-Week rushing for 201 yards and three touchdowns.
Played in only two games, but showed flashes of ability in both...rushed for a season-high 35 yards on six carries against Louisiana-Lafayette...had an exciting 14-yard run at Alabama.
Completed a redshirt season in first year with the program.
Other: In High School Joffrey was a two-year letterman at Lee High School in Tyler, Texas...was an All-District 12-5A running back selection his senior year... named Second-Team, All-District his junior year...an All-East Texas choice by the East Texas Sports Writers Association ...earned Honourable Mention All-State honours in 1997 from the Texas Association of Sports Writers...named the 54th best player in Texas by the Austin American Statesman Fab 55...named one of the Top 100 in the region by National Recruiting Advisor...was one of the Top 90 players in Texas by Jeff Whitaker's Deep South Recruiting...led District 12-5A in rushing in 1997 with 1,826 yards on 262 carries and 15 touchdowns...had a 74-yard TD run versus Texas High...rushed for 714 yards on 125 carries and nine touchdowns his junior year...as a receiver, caught eight passes for 125 yards with a long of 50...chose UH over Baylor, Texas A&M, Kansas and TCU... coached in high school by Mike Owens..son of Lorraine Reynolds of Tyler...majoring in kinesiology.
