Joe Spencer (Joseph Emerson Spencer) was born on August 15, 1923 in Elk City, Oklahoma. After going to high school at Capital Hill (Oklahoma City, OK), Spencer attended Oklahoma State University. Spencer made his professional debut in the AAFC in 1948 with the Brooklyn Dodgers. He played in the AAFC for 2 years, playing for the Cleveland Browns and Brooklyn Dodgers over the course of his 2 year AAFC career.Spencer also played in the NFL for 2 years, playing for the Green Bay Packers the entire time.
Most people believe that 1950 was Joe Spencer's best year.
