Joe Reid (Joseph Edmondson Reid) was born on March 18, 1929 in Meridian, Mississippi. After going to high school at Meridian (MS), Reid attended Louisiana State University. Reid made his professional debut in the NFL in 1951 with the Los Angeles Rams. He played for the Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Rams over the course of his 2 year career.

Most people believe that 1952 was Joe Reid's best year.
