Joe Namath (Joseph William Namath) was born on May 31, 1943 in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. After going to high school at Beaver Falls (PA), Namath attended the University of Alabama. Namath made his professional debut in the AFL in 1965 with the New York Jets. He played in the AFL for 5 years, playing for the New York Jets the entire time. Namath also played in the NFL for 8 years, playing for the New York Jets and Los Angeles Rams over the course of his 8 year NFL career.
Most people believe that 1967 was Joe Namath's best year, as he threw for 4007 yards, tossed 26 TDs and ran back a fumble for a touchdown.
