Joe Murphy (Joseph Thomas Murphy) was born on May 15, 1897 in Concord, New Hampshire. Murphy attended Dartmouth College and Harvard University. Murphy made his professional debut in the APFA in 1921 with the Cleveland Tigers. He played for the Cleveland Tigers for his entire 1 year career.
