Born on November 7, 1916 in Bancroft, Iowa, Joe Hatten (Joseph Hilarian Hatten) played for the Brooklyn Dodgers and Chicago Cubs over the course of his 7 year career. Hatten broke into the bigs on April 21, 1946 with the Brooklyn Dodgers, and put up a 2.84 ERA in 222 innings pitched in 1946, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Joe Hatten's best season was 1946, when he posted a 2.84 ERA, won 14 games and struck out 85 batters.
