Born on June 16, 1947 in Storm Lake, Iowa, Joe Decker (George Henry Decker) played for the Chicago Cubs, Minnesota Twins and Seattle Mariners over the course of his 9 year career. Decker broke into the bigs on September 18, 1969 with the Chicago Cubs, and put up a 4.64 ERA in 108.2 innings pitched in 1970, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Joe Decker's best season was 1974, when he posted a 3.29 ERA, won 16 games and struck out 158 batters.
