Jimmy Childs (Jimmy Joe Childs) was born on August 9, 1956 in El Dorado, Arkansas. After going to high school at La Puente (CA), Childs attended California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo. Childs made his professional debut in the NFL in 1978 with the St. Louis Cardinals. He played for the St. Louis Cardinals for his entire 2 year career.

Most people believe that 1978 was Jimmy Childs's best year.
