Jimmie Coker (Jimmie Goodwin Coker) was born on March 28, 1936 in Holly Hill, South Carolina. He made his Major League debut on September 11, 1958 for the Philadelphia Phillies. In 1960, his rookie year, he hit .214 with 6 home runs and 34 RBI. Coker played for the Philadelphia Phillies, San Francisco Giants and Cincinnati Reds over the course of his 8 year career.
