Jim Russell (James L. Russell) was born on August 18, 1908 in Sinnemahoning, Pennsylvania. After going to high school at Williamsport (PA), Russell attended Temple University. Russell made his professional debut in the NFL in 1936 with the Philadelphia Eagles. He played for the Philadelphia Eagles for his entire 2 year career.
