Jim Hegan (James Edward Hegan) was born on August 3, 1920 in Lynn, Massachusetts. He made his Major League debut on September 9, 1941 for the Cleveland Indians. In 1942, his rookie year, he hit .194 with 0 home runs and 11 RBI. Hegan played for the Cleveland Indians, Philadelphia Phillies, Detroit Tigers, San Francisco Giants and Chicago Cubs over the course of his 17 year career.

Most people believe that Jim Hegan's best season was 1948, when he knocked in 61 runs.
