[edit] Biography

Jim Fregosi (James Louis Fregosi) was born on April 4, 1942 in San Francisco, California. He made his Major League debut on September 14, 1961 for the Los Angeles Angels. In 1962, his rookie year, he hit .291 with 3 home runs and 23 RBI. Fregosi played for the Los Angeles Angels, California Angels, New York Mets, Texas Rangers and Pittsburgh Pirates over the course of his 18 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Jim Fregosi's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1970, when he slugged 22 home runs, hit for a .278 average and knocked in 82 runs. However, others believe that it was 1966, when he knocked in 67 runs.
