Jim Burns (James M. Burns) was born on Unknown in St. Louis, Missouri. He made his Major League debut on September 25, 1888 for the Kansas City Cowboys. In 1889, his rookie year, he hit .304 with 5 home runs and 97 RBI. Burns played for the Kansas City Cowboys and Washington Senators over the course of his 3 year career.
