[edit] Biography

Born on December 29, 1972 in Edina, Minnesota, Jim Brower (James Robert Brower) played for the Cleveland Indians, Cincinnati Reds, Montreal Expos, San Francisco Giants, Atlanta Braves, San Diego Padres Baltimore Orioles, and New York Yankees over the course of his 9 year career. Brower broke into the bigs on September 5, 1999 with the Cleveland Indians, and put up a 6.24 ERA in 62 innings pitched in 2000, his rookie year.

In 2004, he tied the Giants team record with 89 relief appearances.

In his career, Brower has worked as a starting and relief pitcher. In the off-season, Brower and his wife, Jessica, visit terminally ill children in area hospitals.

Brower began the 2007 season pitching in the Yankees minor league system. On August 6, 2007, the Yankees called up Brower, replacing Mike Myers on the 40-man roster.

Most people believe that Jim Brower's best season was 2004, when he posted a 3.29 ERA and struck out 63 batters.
