Jiggs Donahue (John Augustus Donahue) was born on July 13, 1879 in Springfield, Ohio. He made his Major League debut on September 10, 1900 for the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 1904, his rookie year, he hit .248 with 1 home run and 48 RBI. Donahue played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Milwaukee Brewers, St. Louis Browns, Chicago White Sox and Washington Senators over the course of his 9 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Jiggs Donahue's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1905, when he stole 32 bases, hit for a .287 average and knocked in 76 runs. However, others believe that it was 1906, when he stole 36 bases and knocked in 57 runs.
