[edit] Biography

Born on April 21, 1957 in Santa Barbara, California, Jesse Orosco (Jesse Russell Orosco) played for the New York Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers, Cleveland Indians, Milwaukee Brewers, Baltimore Orioles, St. Louis Cardinals, San Diego Padres, New York Yankees and Minnesota Twins over the course of his 24 year career. Orosco broke into the bigs on April 5, 1979 with the New York Mets, and put up a 2.72 ERA in 109.1 innings pitched in 1982, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Jesse Orosco's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1984, when he posted a 2.59 ERA, won 10 games, notched 31 saves and struck out 85 batters. However, others believe that it was 1983, when he posted a 1.47 ERA, won 13 games, notched 17 saves and struck out 84 batters.
