Jeff Backus (Jeffrey Carl Backus) was born on September 21, 1977 in Midland, Michigan. After going to high school at Norcross (GA), Backus attended the University of Michigan. Backus made his professional debut in the NFL in 2001 with the Detroit Lions. He has played for the Detroit Lions for his entire 6 year career.
