Jay Bruce is straight up slugging his way through the minor leagues. Listed as the top MiLB prospect heading into 2008, Bruce will look to overtake center field in 2008 in what will be his first stop in Cincinnati.
[edit] Scouting Report
Baseball America's Minor League Player of the Year for 2007. Highest rated position player out of 2005 draft which included Cameron Maybin and Justin Upton. Plus right now across the board in every aspect except defense and that's because of his size (6'2" 220), he doesn't run well enough to plus out as a centerfielder. Is a baseball rat, first to the park and last to leave, impeccable work ethic and well liked by teammates and coaches at every level. Major league ready now, Reds still trying to move both Adam Dunn and Scott Hatteberg despite picking up their respective options. He won't make the team unless he plays everyday so Triple A Louisville is his likely destination barring a trade or injury at the ML level.
