James Murphy (James Jessie Murphy) was born on October 10, 1959 in Deland, Florida. After going to high school at Deland (FL), Murphy attended Utah State University. Murphy made his professional debut in the NFL in 1981 with the Kansas City Chiefs. He played for the Kansas City Chiefs for his entire 1 year career.
