Jackie Burkett (Walter Jackson Burkett) was born on December 16, 1936 in Thorsby, Alabama. After going to high school at Choctawhatchee (Shalimar, FL), Burkett attended Auburn University. Burkett made his professional debut in the NFL in 1961 with the Baltimore Colts. He played for the Baltimore Colts, Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints over the course of his 10 year career.
Most people believe that 1970 was Jackie Burkett's best year, as he picked off 4 passes.
