Jack Saltzgaver (Otto Hamlin Saltzgaver) was born on January 23, 1903 in Croton, Iowa. He made his Major League debut on April 12, 1932 for the New York Yankees. In 1934, his rookie year, he hit .271 with 6 home runs and 36 RBI. Saltzgaver played for the New York Yankees and Pittsburgh Pirates over the course of his 6 year career.
