Born on April 25, 1983 in Modesto, California, J.P. Howell (James Phillip Howell) played for the Kansas City Royals and Tampa Bay Devil Rays over the course of his 3 year career. Howell broke into the bigs on June 11, 2005 with the Kansas City Royals, and put up a 6.19 ERA in 72.2 innings pitched in 2005, his rookie year.
