Ival Goodman (Ival Richard Goodman) was born on July 23, 1908 in Northview, Missouri. He made his Major League debut on April 16, 1935 for the Cincinnati Reds. In 1935, his rookie year, he hit .269 with 12 home runs and 72 RBI. Goodman played for the Cincinnati Reds and Chicago Cubs over the course of his 10 year career.

Most people believe that Ival Goodman's best season was 1938, when he slugged 30 home runs, hit for a .292 average and knocked in 92 runs.
