I thing this is better than signing Randy. I don't think anything can change Randy, including the Patriots' veteran leadership.

It depends what Randy would be willing to renegotiate his deal to (not necessarily amount of $$$, but how little would he take guaranteed), and how much would they get him for. If OAK would have sent him to NE for a third this year and next, and Randy would take a League minimum guaranteed with the rest of his deal changed into bonuses; that'd be worth it. It really depends how low he'd accept

I think that this deal is better for the Patriots, because Stallworth doesn't come with all the baggage that Moss does. I think this contract was ingenious too because, if he doesn't pan out than hes gone. Plus, this allows them to go after a WR in the middle rounds, and let him develop some before throwing him into the fire.
